Installing, Starting Up and Troubleshooting AC Variable Speed Drives

Course Purpose:

This course provides students with the skills necessary to install a PowerFlex 70 and PowerFlex 700 drive, program it according to specifications, and learn valuable troubleshooting techniques.

Throughout the course, the instructor will demonstrate how to install, start up, and troubleshoot a PowerFlex 70/700 drive. After each demonstration, the student will be given an application-based exercise that offers extensive hands-on practice using the LCD HIM, DriveExplorer software, and DriveTools32 software.

Hands-On Practice

Hands-on practice is an integral part of learning and this course offers extensive hands-on opportunities. An in-class workstation allows students immediately to apply the knowledge they learn to real-world situations.

Prerequisites:

To successfully complete this course, the following prerequisites are required:
  • General knowledge of electrical principles, circuits, and safety practices
  • Completion of the Rockwell Automation Fundamentals of AC/DC Drives course (Course No. CCA101) or equivalent experience
