Level 3: Programming SLC-500 / PLC-5 Controllers using RSLogix Software
Course Purpose:
This course provides you with the skills needed to configure, organise, plan, write, enter, test and document SLC-500 and PLC-5 programs using the common programming instructions and RSLogix™ software. You will learn to enter and edit the common group of program specific ladder logic instructions. It is expected that you are already familiar wth the upload, download, and save functions.
The instructor will demonstrate the use of bit-level, timer, counter, conversion, math, comparison, data manipulation, program control, and peer communication instructions in detail, then provide realistic situations that allow the students to practice using these instructions. Frequent hands-on practice is provided using actual SLC-500 and PLC-5 system workstations.
Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to produce SLC-500 and PLC-5 programs using RSLogix software by performing these actions:
- Write and edit programs
- Enter and test programs
- Document and maintain programs
Individuals who need to be able to write ladder logic programs for SLC-500 or PLC-5 processors using RSLogix5 or RSLogix500 software should attend this course.
